March Roundtable Discussion on Eagle Advancement Process
Written by Ron Luke
Tuesday, 23 February 2010

At the March 11 Roundtable the Boy Scout breakout session will cover the Eagle advancement process. Leading this discussion will be Ron Luke, Advancement Committee Chairman for Armadillo District, and Bob Bollish, Advancement and Recognition committee Chairman for the Capitol Area Council.

A discussion at this time has several purposes. In the past two years there have been changes in policy from the Council and the National office that we are just beginning to implement in the district. These changes affect the way Eagle Boards of Review are conducted. Another purpose is to clarify district expectations on project selection and documentation of the project in the workbook.

The District Advancement Committee hopes that each troop will have at least one scouter who is involved in the Eagle advancement process at the March Roundtable. Send as many as you can.

  Disabilities Awareness

    Merit Badge Class

A Project of Easter Seals Central Texas &

the Armadillo District, Boy Scouts of America

              April 10, 2010

The Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge was created by the Boy Scouts in 1993 but is rarely earned. As the name implies, its purpose is to make Scouts aware of the capabilities people with disabilities bring to scouting and to the broader community. In meeting the requirements for the merit badge Scouts will experience the effects of disabilities and learn how people overcome  their disabilities through training, technology, advocacy and community support.
