There is training available online, in classrooms, or outdoors that can help you become a better leader for your troop. Classes are for all currently registered leader, or for anyone who thinks they might want to be a leader.
To be considered a trained leader, a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster needs:
- Youth Protection Training *
- Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training
- Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)
To be a trained Troop Committee member, you need:
- Youth Protection Training *
- Troop Committee Challenge *
All courses marked with an asterisk (*) are available online in the eLearning Center at myscouting.org. You may prefer to take the committee training in a classroom setting such as an Armadillo Training Day where you can discuss and exchange ideas with other leaders.
Check the calendar for the next offering of IOLS and the classroom versions of leader-specific training.
