What is Wood Badge?
Wood Badge is the ultimate personal and professional growth training program offered by the Boy Scouts of America for adult leaders in all Scouting programs; it is a national course curriculum delivered locally by Capitol Area Council volunteer staff. Wood Badge is about enhancing your leadership skills through hands-on experience, helping you take those skills back to your unit or District and putting them to work to develop effective leaders and youth where you serve.
The instructional portion of the course consists of the two 3-day sessions at Lost Pines, followed by an 18-month application phase when each participant completes what is known as their "ticket", a series of personal goals developed during the course.

The Philmont Training Center provides a unique environment for training volunteer and professional leaders, and a fun family program for every member of the family. All registered Scouters are invited to attend training center courses; council approval is no longer required.
