New District Committee Formed! 

Last night at the first Annual District D Business Meeting the members present elected District Committee Leadership for the 2008 inception of the new District. Leading the election was Shep Strong, Capitol Area Council VP of Operations and member of the Council Redistricting Committee, assisted by the District Nominating Committee. The first action of the Committee was to ratify the name of the new District “D” as the Armadillo District. The Armadillo District becomes official effective January 1, 2008. 

• Ben Turner was voted District Chair
• Doug Rose was voted District Vice Chair
• Mike Sullivan was recommended to the Council for District Commissioner (this position is recommended, not voted, by the District Committee)

Ben Turner has appointed the following subcommittee Chairs:

• Karen Snyder, Chair of the Activity Committee
• Sunne Wiginton, Chair of the Advancement Committee
• Mike McMinn, Chair of the Camping Committee
• Ray Longoria, Chair of the Communications Committee
• Bruce Anderson, Chair of the Finance Committee
• Roy Kleinsasser, Chair of the Training Committee

The following slate of District Committee Members was elected:
