lightningOnline Learning Center for Training Courses
Effective January 2009, all tour permits submitted to the Council need to identify the name of an adult that has taken the new Hazardous Weather online training course. This is a valuable interactive session that identifies many old and new safety measures for Packs, Troops, Crews, and Ships to consider when conducting outdoor activities. Take a spin through it and see how many of these points are top of mind.

Online Learning Center for All E-Learning Training Courses
To take the Weather Safety course or any of the other courses offered by National, like Youth Protection, you must enroll in the new MyScouting portal hosted by the National BSA Council.

http://www.Scouting.org/Applications/MyScoutingFull.aspx

Enroll with the Capitol Area Council #, which is 564, and your Scout volunteer ID#.  Your ID# can be found on your BSA registration card, through your Committee Chair, or embedded in the mailing label on your Scouting magazine cover - look at the line above your name and find your number, which is between the two # signs; ignore the leading zeros.

Scouting Magazine Mailing label:

Your training will be recorded and you can print a training certificate at any time. Over time additional features will be offered through this portal from BSA.

If you are not receiving Scouting magazine, a resource for adult volunteers, contact your Committee Chair or Bob Oatman at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it to register. To view it online: http://www.scoutingmagazine.org/
