Training for Cub Scout Leaders PDF Print E-mail

This is the link to take any BSA online training in the new portal called MyScouting.org.  If you are new to the portal you can create an account to take and track all of your online training here, and print certificates for camps that require them.

All the training Cub Leaders have at their disposal.

 

  • Youth Protection (online) - A must have for all volunteers and parents are encouraged also
  • Cub Scout Leader Fast Start (online) - an outline of how the Cub Scout program operates
  • This is Scouting (online, replaces New Leader Essentials) - introduction to the overall Scouting program from Tiger Cubs to Venturing.   

  • Cub Leader Specific (classroom) - The basics of how to operate a den, pack and provide the program to your Scouts and parents. Sept 25 location tbd
  • BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) (classroom) - safety rules and what the pack can do in an outdoor setting, where it can camp, what is needed. Sept 25 location tbd
  • Safe Swim Defense (online) - Must complete before taking the Scouts swimming.
  • Safety Afloat (online) -  using a boat, canoe, raft, etc. here are the rules

  •  
  • Aquatics Supervision: Paddle Craft Safety Sept 19 at McKinney Roughs LCRA Center, Cost:$35  Contact Dean Woodley This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
  • Webelos Leader Outdoor Skills (classroom) - how to present the outdoor program to Webelos and get them ready for the camping/outdoor programs of Boy Scouts.


  • Wood Badge - the ultimate training experience for Scout Leaders that will help understanding of youth and adults, new levels of personal growth and leadership skills.  Highly recommended. 
  • University of Scouting - Cub Scouter Safari (All Cubmasters, Den Leaders, Pack Committees and other adults need to participate on the Safari to help them with new games, crafts, trips, meeting pizzazz and resources)
